 Jackie Akerson
Hello, my name is Jackie Akerson and I am a regional admissions advisor for Cleveland Chiropractic College. I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a B.S. degree in Organizational Communications in May 2004 and I joined the admissions team at Cleveland in September 2004. After three years with CCC, my husband and I decided to move to Lincoln, Neb., where I continue to work for the College. This gives me an even better opportunity to meet with prospective students and travel to the states in my territory. In my opinion, the Kansas City metropolitan area is a great place to live and chiropractic is a wonderful career choice. If you have any questions about the programs we offer or if you’d like to set up a campus visit, please don’t hesitate to contact me at (913) 234-0743. Oh, and make sure to check out the Town Center Plaza when you are here. There are some neat shops and so many great places to eat! Good luck with your future in chiropractic.

Welcome! As an admissions advisor, I am here to help you through the application process and answer any questions. I also travel to specific states giving presentations, attending career or graduate fairs and meeting with prospective students. Being a part of the Admissions Department since 2005, I have grown to know Cleveland Chiropractic College and the city it calls home. Since the College relocated to its new suburban campus, I have again fallen in love with the Kansas City way of life. The architecture of its buildings, its outdoor shopping areas, parks, unlimited restaurants and sport teams really define what life is like here. One of my favorite places is the Country Club Plaza. It carries a lot of history, yet remains a hot spot for daytime shopping and evenings out on the town. I believe the Plaza is a "must visit" when you are in the area. Contact me soon to schedule a visit to see our beautiful campus and make sure to save extra time to discover our city!

Welcome home. That’s how I felt when I first walked through the doors at Cleveland Chiropractic College. After moving to Kansas City from a small town, I was amazed at how quickly I felt at home at CCC. Although North Carolina will always be in my heart, Kansas City has become the place where I belong. Education is a passion of mine. I earned a B.S. degree in Communications from Western Carolina University in 1999 and a second B.S. degree in Education from Lees-McRae College in 2007. As your admissions advisor, I hope to inspire that love of learning in you as well. Together we can work toward making your educational dreams a reality. Feel free to give me a call and schedule a tour of our beautiful new campus in Overland Park, Kan. While you are in the area, don’t forget to visit the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and take advantage of the many great restaurants and shops nearby. I look forward to ensuring that your transition to Cleveland Chiropractic College is as smooth as possible.

If you are interested in pursuing your education in an environment founded in knowledge and expertise, you have come to the right place. Being a small-town girl, I also appreciate the close-knit, caring atmosphere at this renowned College. After growing up in the Dakotas, I was awarded a B.A. degree from the University of South Dakota in Integrated Marketing and German. My role at Cleveland Chiropractic College is to set each student up for success in becoming a doctor of chiropractic and to take full advantage of the multitude of educational opportunities offered here. I do not shy away from the opportunity to have fun, and one of my favorite places in the area is the newly completed Legends at Village West shopping center in nearby Kansas City, Kan., where you can dine, shop and even experience an audio walking tour of more than 80 Kansas legends. Visit Legendsshopping.com for more information.

Your future in a rewarding career starts here! Whether you want to pursue undergraduate studies in biology or graduate studies in health promotion or chiropractic, I will help you find the solution to your educational goals. As an Admissions Advisor I’m your resource for information and will guide you through the application process. I grew up in Kansas City and earned a B.F.A in Design from Missouri State University. Now that I’m part of the admissions team at Cleveland I’m happy to be home again and welcome you to the College. While visiting our new campus, I recommend a trip to the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens in Overland Park, KS. If you appreciate nature like I do, you won’t want to miss it.
