The following scholarships and grants are for students who are entering either the Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Chiropractic programs. Each scholarship is for $2,000 and is disbursed during the first trimester of the program. To apply for these scholarships, please complete the two-page application available at the link below. Essays can be mailed, faxed or submitted electronically at kc.financialaid@cleveland.edu.

Scholarship deadlines are as follows:
  • Fall entry: July 1
  • Spring entry: November 1
  • Summer entry: March 1

The following scholarships are available: 

Academic Honor Scholarship: This scholarship is one of the highest academic honors awarded to incoming B.S and D.C students by Cleveland Chiropractic College. Students who receive this award must demonstrate academic excellence in their prior education with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or above from all previous institutions.  

Career Changers Grant: Students entering the B.S program that receive this award must be starting a “second career” in chiropractic. This could include students who have previously worked in a different field or students who were pursuing a degree in a different subject matter. Must demonstrate “need” through completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Career Changers Scholarship: Students entering the D.C. program that receive this award must be starting a “second career” in chiropractic. This could include students who have previously worked in a different field or students who were pursuing a degree in a different subject matter. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above from all post secondary institutions is required to be eligible.

Dependent Grant: This award is given to students starting the B.S. program and who are considered dependent by the Department of Education, as determined by completion of the FASFA.

Diversity Scholarship: This award is given to students starting the D.C. program who must be from a historically under-represented minority. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above from all post secondary institutions is required.

Financial Need Grant: Applicants must be incoming B.S. students that demonstrate special circumstances or unusual hardships, which increase the need for financial assistance in order to complete educational goals. Examples of special circumstances or unusual hardships include, but are not limited to the following: first-generation college students, re-entry students, single parents, returning veterans, students with high medical bills, and students with a disability.

International Scholarship: Students who receive this award must be starting the D.C. program and can demonstrate international citizenship or residency. An I-20 processed by the Immigration and Naturalization Service upon entrance to the United States must be provided. Student must also have a 2.75 cumulative GPA or above from all post secondary institutions.

Legacy Scholarship: Incoming D.C. students who receive this award must have an immediate family member (i.e. spouse, sibling, or parent) who is either a graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College or is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Chiropractic program. A 2.5 cumulative GPA or above from all post secondary institutions is required.

Sylva Ashworth Single Parent Grant: Applicant must be a single parent and an incoming full-time student in the B.S. or D.C. program. Financial documentation must be provided through federal tax returns, court documents, etc. to demonstrate that student provides at least one-half the financial support of a child in which they are a parent or guardian.
